Shower Faucet Replacement in Clifton Heights, PA

|

Cartridge-style, single-handle faucet replacement is an easy job for do-it-yourselfers

You will more than likely be able to replace your own shower faucet if you have a cartridge-style, single-handle model. This kind of faucet is the quickest to replace, usually taking less than an hour.

First, shut off the water supply. You can either use the shower shut-off valve or use the main valve to shut all the water off to your home. Drain the shower line, and use a screwdriver to take out the old faucet once the line is empty.

You’ll see a washer under the handle of the faucet (again, this is if you have a cartridge model with only one handle). You’ll want to make sure that you switch out the old washer to reduce the chances of a leak. Use the old holes as a guide when installing your new shower faucet. Then, once the new model is securely fastened, turn on the water supply and run the shower to make sure that everything is working properly.
