Gas is a cheaper way to heat your home
Many people make the choice to heat their homes with gas instead of oil, and for good reason. Gas is much cheaper than oil. In fact, it is so much cheaper that the savings will pay for the cost of the conversion relatively quickly.
If you are interested in this sort of service, you can expect the gas utility to install a pipe from the city line to the edge of your property. There, it will install a gas meter. The rest of the connection, from the meter to your home, will be your responsibility. There is a chance the utility company will charge you for digging a trench from the main line to the meter, but there is also a possibility it will waive that charge as an incentive for becoming a customer.
You might need to have your chimney lined in order to protect it from moisture resulting from gas exhaust. If you choose a gas system that is high efficiency, however, you may not need that lining.
Call Feehan Plumbing & Heating today and we’ll handle all of your oil-to-gas conversion needs.
