Water Heater Replacement in Berwyn, PA

|

Sometimes, you just can’t fix it

The life expectancy of a water heater is usually between 8-12 years. A customer called because it was just time he replaced his old water heater with a new one. It’s probably a good idea to update your unit every now and again anyways, especially if the size of your family has grown or decreased. For example, if you once had five people in the home all taking showers before 8:00a.m, and now you only have two or three, you would probably be better off with a smaller unit this time around.

If your family size has stayed the same and you’re unsure if it’s time for you to invest in a brand new water heater, here are some things to look out for – sure signs it’s on its way out.

  1. A leak: Red flag. If you notice your water heater has a leak, then you should definitely start thinking about what size you’ll need and where you might want to put it.
  2. Age: As previously mentioned, water heaters are only supposed to last up to twelve years, so if yours is hitting the ten-year mark and has been acting a little out of the ordinary, that’s a sign it’s about to go.
  3. Loud noises: If you hear any odd sounds coming from the unit, that means that there’s sediment built up on the tank – which isn’t good.
  4. Corrosion: If your tank is suffering from corrosion, unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to repair it.
